The most commonly asked questions (F.A.Q's)

Hi,

Thanks for your interest in www.geoff.cc, the most exciting & personal player sponsorship web-site on the internet! We would be grateful if you would confirm how you found us; for our marketing department's benefit!

N.B. Before we can commence, we need you to scan & email us some ID (passport or drivers license) and certification of your address.

How it works on the ladder system

Basically, you set up an account (which must be done via the link on our site, or it’s not valid), either on poker-united (if you prefer the i-poker system) or fulltilt. You need no longer fund it yourself for the trial period, so long as you can convince me you are a winning player!

Set up the account - making sure that you set the currency parameter to British Pounds - send me your username, screen-name, password & email address, and I’ll top it up with a meagre $20. However (and here’s the good bit) as soon as you have a couple of winning days, that limit goes up. You continue to have a few more winning days, and the limit goes up again. After a few weeks/months, once you have proven consistency, you could even find yourself joining the ranks of our top players, on daily limits in the thousands!

We will review your daily limit every day, up or down (although not too many downs please), and of every £1,000 you win, you get to keep £500! Also, for every £500 in rake-back you earn, you get to keep £250!

How it works for an experienced player

It is essentially the same as above, however you would start on a limit, to be agreed between you & one of our mentors. This limit would still be less than we would expect you to climb to, and no doubt less than your aspirations, however a few winning days would be enough for us to uplift that to a more realistic & profitable figure for all concerned!

Payments etc

Our accounting system works on a monthly basis. Thus, the ‘month-end’ is the end of every calendar month. (This is of course the ‘play’ from the previous evening!)

The rake back figures however we don’t get until the 1st/2nd or sometimes 3rd, thus in order to send all the money over in one hit, we hold the winnings in abeyance until the rake is received, and then send it all out, with a statement, in one hit.

For both rake & winnings there is a 3/5 payment — 2/5 retention, which is held over for just one month. So if your share of your winnings in month one is £500, we’ll send you £300 immediately, and hold onto the other £200 until next month, and send it out with the following month’s winnings and on it goes!

There is no upper limit of how much you can win, and some of our players’ monthly payments are literally in the thousands!

Also, just to make it more exciting, Geoff is about to launch its own online tournament battle, with bonuses for the final table, and tournament entry for the winner, so watch this space!

The rules & regs!

Whilst we are all aware that the quality of a player cannot be determined in only a few sessions, we always expect our players to be cautious enough during their start up period not to blow their stack! A win of 8-15% is better than a loss of 100%.
Aim never to lose more than 50% of your stack as a worst case scenario!
Rake-back is only payable if a player is in a winning position over the course of a month. If the player has lost over the course of a month, the share of rake-back is forfeited.
Players must play on their account on a regular basis; interludes of no play in excess of 3 days are not acceptable and forfeit shares to date, unless we are notified in advance.
If a player is found to be only playing periodically, their account may be frozen and funds removed; the object of the exercise being that it is more profitable for all concerned if the tables are played every day for as long as possible.
If a player is thinking of resigning from Geoff, he must inform us immediately.
If a player is found to be playing for an alternative similar scheme, they forfeit their shares to date.
Any money held on retention into month 2 is set against any losses in month 2, should that indeed occur.
All players are expected to play at least 20 table hours per week; if multi-tabling then it can be 10 hours on 2 tables etc. Any player who doesn’t meet these terms will be up for review and may be dismissed.
Your goal is never to fall into a negative position (loss) in the first few weeks!
For the avoidance of doubt, if playing fulltilt, we convert their dollar to pound rate at 2;1, as a general rule, in relation to monthly player payments.

The basis of the system is this:

All players’ limits are to be reviewed every week and will be adjusted according to profit or loss. Any player who has 2 big loss days out of 3 (a big loss day is defined by losing 40% or more of your daily limit) will automatically have his limit reduced at the discretion of his mentor. This isn’t a punishment it is meant to protect you when you are running cold. When the player then posts 3 winning days out of 4 (to cover the losses at least) his limit will go back to its original level. Any player winning consistently should speak to his mentor if he feels he wants to play higher and have his limit increased if it has not been done automatically.

All players should remember that a wipe-out day is meant to be a complete disaster day. The daily limit is what it says - it’s a limit not a target. Any player having a max loss day may have his account frozen for review by his mentor. A max loss day in the first few days of taking a player on will usually lead to dismissal but it is at the discretion of his mentor. It is far better when running cold to quit for the day rather than chasing and losing the lot.

If you would like to proceed, in order for us to ascertain a starting limit for you, please email Ariston on russellcawley@hotmail.com or add him to your msn so you can chat!

Be lucky!
